Description
Deep, painful cracks on the heel aren’t a dryness problem you can moisturize away — they’re thickened, hardened skin that has already split. Most cracked-heel products, Vaseline included, only slow down moisture loss. Mustard & Castor is built to soften that hardened skin, not just seal it in — using castor oil’s ricinoleic acid to do the job most cracked-heel products skip entirely, and mustard oil, a traditional Pakistani remedy, to support the circulation that helps skin actually recover.
At a Glance
- Castor Oil — softens and breaks down thickened, splitting skin.
- Mustard Oil — warms skin, supports circulation to the area.
- Shea Butter & Beeswax — deep moisture with a breathable, non-suffocating seal.
- 100% Natural — no petroleum, no mineral oil.
Why Mustard & Castor Isn’t Just Another Vaseline or Cracked-Heel Cream
Most cracked-heel products — Vaseline included — do one job: sit on top of skin and slow moisture loss. That’s useful, but it isn’t the same as helping skin actually recover.
Vaseline seals. It doesn’t soften. Petroleum jelly blocks moisture from escaping, but it can’t soften the thickened, hardened skin that’s actually cracking. Castor oil does that work here, helping break down built-up roughness instead of sitting on top of it.
Circulation matters, not just moisture. Warming mustard oil supports blood flow to the area — something an inert, petroleum-based product simply can’t offer.
A crack is open skin, and we treat it that way. Once skin splits, it’s vulnerable. Neem and tea tree oil are included to help protect compromised skin, not just moisturize around it.
No petroleum, no mineral oil. Mustard & Castor is built from natural oils, butters, and beeswax instead of petroleum byproducts.
A Fair Note on Urea-Based Creams
Some clinical cracked-heel treatments use urea, a genuine and effective skin-softening ingredient — a legitimate different approach worth respecting. Mustard & Castor reaches the same softening goal naturally through castor oil, while layering in circulation support, antimicrobial protection, and aromatherapy benefits a urea-only cream doesn’t offer.
Ingredients Benefits
| Mustard Oil (Sarson) | Warms the skin and supports circulation — a traditional Pakistani remedy included because better blood flow genuinely supports skin’s natural repair process. |
| Castor Oil | The workhorse of this formula. Its ricinoleic acid content helps soften and break down the thickened, hardened skin that’s actually splitting. |
| Neem Oil | A time-honored oil valued for its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, included to help protect compromised, cracked skin. |
| Beeswax | Forms a breathable seal that helps lock in moisture without suffocating the skin underneath. |
| Shea Butter | Deeply moisturizing and naturally rich in vitamins, shea softens and nourishes rough, dry skin. |
| Lanolin | An intensely occlusive moisturizer that closely mimics skin’s own natural oils, ideal for very dry, cracked heels. Contains lanolin — not suitable for wool allergies. |
| Rosemary-Infused Sunflower Oil | Infused by hand with our own home-grown rosemary, delivering natural antioxidant support. |
| Coconut Oil | Lightweight, moisturizing, and naturally antimicrobial. |
| Cocoa Butter | Adds richness and helps the salve hold its shape, even through Pakistan’s summer heat. |
| Frankincense Oil | A prized resin, valued for centuries for supporting skin renewal. |
| Tea Tree Oil | A gentle natural antiseptic, included to help keep compromised skin clean while it heals. |
| Vitamin E | An antioxidant that protects the formula’s oils and supports the skin barrier. |
| Menthol Crystals & Peppermint Oil | Deliver an invigorating, cooling sensation that instantly relieves tired, aching feet. |

Does Vaseline help cracked heels?
Vaseline can slow moisture loss, but petroleum jelly only seals the surface — it doesn’t soften the thickened, hardened skin that’s actually cracking. Mustard & Castor uses castor oil to soften that hardened layer, addressing the root texture problem rather than just sealing over it.
Is urea or natural oil better for cracked heels?
Urea is a genuine, clinically-used skin-softening ingredient — a legitimate approach. Mustard & Castor reaches a similar softening effect naturally through castor oil’s ricinoleic acid, while adding circulation support from mustard oil and antimicrobial protection from neem and tea tree oil that a urea-only cream doesn’t offer.
How long does it take to heal cracked heels?
With consistent nightly use, most people notice softer skin within the first week, and visible improvement in cracks over 2–4 weeks depending on how deep they are. Very deep, bleeding, or infected cracks should be checked by a doctor before home treatment.
Is mustard oil good for cracked heels?
Yes — mustard oil is a traditional Pakistani remedy for foot care. It has a warming effect that supports circulation to the area, which genuinely supports skin’s natural repair process, though it works best paired with a skin-softening ingredient like castor oil rather than alone.
